A record of where we've played, who we've played for, and the causes we've supported along the way.
Saturday 20th June brought The Groove Diggers to the stunning Terraces at Truro School for their community Sunset Sessions event - and what a setting it was. The weather held off beautifully, and as the evening drew on, the sun set over Truro just as we wrapped up our set. You can't plan for moments like that.
The school community crowd were a wonderful audience - warm, engaged, and up for it. A good number stayed for our entire set, which always means a lot, and we had people up on their feet dancing before long. The atmosphere was exactly what these outdoor summer gigs are all about.
Special mention to our sound team on the night - Chris worked hard getting all the gear set up, and handed things over to Dennis and the Truro School sound engineers, who did an outstanding job throughout. Great sound makes a huge difference to a gig like this, and they delivered.
A lovely evening, a lovely crowd, and the kind of gig that reminds us exactly why we do this. Thank you to everyone at Truro School for having us.
The Groove Diggers played to a packed and wonderfully vibrant Pizza Cabina on Friday 12th June - with band and audience alike having an absolute blast from start to finish. The room was full, the energy was high, and the groove was very much in the building.
We played a few tracks that were new to our set, including Where Is My Mind and Earth Wind & Fire's September - both of which went down a storm. Special mention to Matthew, who stepped in on bass and was absolutely outstanding - some seriously tasty riffs, particularly during Sweet Child of Mine.
All profits from the night went to Man Down Cornwall, supporting men's mental health across Cornwall - a cause very close to our hearts. We raised a significant amount on the night and are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, bought a ticket, and got involved.
A heartfelt thank you to every single person who turned out - whether you were there for the music, the cause, or both. Nights like this are why we do what we do.
